Enhancing parent child shared book interactions with your preschool children.
Parent child storybook reading is not only capable of fostering a love of reading in children; it is also one of the most fundamental home learning activities to develop emergent literacy skills. (Burgess, Hecht, & Lonigan, 2002 in LaCour, McDonald, & Tissington, 2011). Throughout this site I will highlight the current exciting research on the significance of reading with your preschool children. I will also explain how your shared interactions with your children and the pivotal role they play in children's literacy learning, are linked to many theories of child development.
